Green Deal for Business

In April 2013, in a response to the Budget, the UK Government announced the launch date for the Green Deal for Business. The Green Deal requires all UK businesses – regardless of size – to be presented with a bespoke energy efficiency package that suits the building they occupy. The scheme will help businesses as they will have access to energy efficiency installations which can help reduce utilities costs and help the business achieve the government targets to reduce the UK carbon emissions by 80% by 2050.
The Green Deal for Business means there will be no upfront costs for improvements made to business property, but there is an initial cost which is payable to accredited assessors. All the installations will adhere to the central principle of the Green Deal – the work undertaken must be equal or less than the savings outcome of the work.
The bespoke nature of the Green Deal means that it’s not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. This means you need to get in contact with Cubic Apple to help them identify the best possible assessment options. Display Energy Certificates For Public Buildings

If you own or manage a public building of 500 square metres that is wholly or partly occupied by a public authority and visited by members of the public, then as of January 2013 you are legally bound by the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012 to commission an approved assessor such as Cubic Apple Ltd (formerly known as Energy Intelligence UK) to perform an inspection to provide a Display Energy Certificate 500m2 (DEC).

How To Get A Non Domestic EPC

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are required for all commercial buildings whenever they are built, sold or rented and the best way to obtain one of these is through contacting independent energy assessor, Energy Intelligence UK.
EPCs help prospective buyers, tenants, owners and occupiers to weigh up the energy efficiency and carbon emissions from their building, in consideration as part of their investment.
Energy Intelligence provides EPC certificates to record how energy efficient each building is, giving the property a specific rating from A to G (A is most efficient, G is the least).
Energy Intelligence produces these certificates to standard methods and assumptions about energy usage, so that energy efficiency is comparable with other buildings of the same type. They also provide reports that list cost-effective and other means (such as low and zero carbon generating systems) to improve the energy rating of your building.
The importance of the EPC certificates rests in the fact that nearly 40 per cent of the UK’s energy consumption and carbon emissions arise from the way buildings are lit, heated and generally used. Energy Intelligence can help you to make a big difference with just minor changes, to have a significant effect in reducing energy consumption – and your monthly energy bills!
To find out more about getting an EPC certificate and energy report call Energy Intelligence on 01827 713 870 or 01529 300 618, or email info@eiuk.org.
